Smallwood Honored at MLK Reception

Nearly 200 people attended the Martin Luther King Jr. reception as the Columbus Bar honored Carl Smallwood for his exceptional vision and leadership in promoting diversity in the legal profession. Smallwood, a Columbus Bar past president was instrumental in the creation of the Diversity Initiative, addressing the lack of minority representation in firms and focusing on recruitment, assimilation and retention of minority attorneys in Columbus’s firms. Ten years later, the groundbreaking coalition is still in existence and working hard to advance diversity in the legal community.
